- Narrator announces general state of fear and inexplicable, nefarious background events. He's not a believer, but he soon will be.
- Mystery clues. More evil (blasphemous cult or others dabbling in cult, yadda, yadda)
- First fruits of clues. This will be vanquished (or disappear on own).
- But that's not all, folks. A deeper evil lurks, which may or may not be vanquished.
- Maybe a deeper (deepest) evil surges below this. It hasn't attacked but will one day. Nothing you can do. You're doomed. Humanity is doomed. All you can do is wait for the inevitable demise of our corrupt culture.
